About this role

The Airframe Engineering Supervisor leads the team for new product and aircraft designs. This position holds functional and technical responsibility for degreed engineers. It ensures technical competency, consistency, and standardization across the airframe design group.

Utilize strong Creo/PDM CAD skills, composite design and manufacturing knowledge, GD&T, structural analysis, and airplane certification experience daily. Attend to administrative and personnel requirements while distributing workload to support projects. Maintain high organization and decisiveness in team management.

Work within a cross-functional environment fostering industry, academic, and vendor partnerships. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide the team. Operate effectively in ambiguous situations with situational adaptability.

Pursue a passionate vision for technical progress and group development. Expand functional and technical abilities while identifying performance gaps. Develop talent to meet career and organizational goals through consistent results.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 year Degree in engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience in airframe design engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft structure, aircraft materials and composites
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft systems and aerodynamics
  • Strong Creo/PDM CAD skills
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, guidance and decision making
  • Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and track record of leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional and technical responsibility for degreed engineers
  • Ensure technical competency, consistency and standardization of the airframe design group through Creo/PDM CAD skills, composite design and manufacturing knowledge, GD&T, structural analysis, and airplane certification experience
  • Develop and pursue a passionate vision for the group's technical progress using leadership, communication skills and industry, academic, and vendor partnerships
  • Manage administrative and personnel requirements of the team and workload distribution across team members to support projects
  • Analyze and interpret requirements/technical specifications of aircraft structure, materials, processes, equipment, components and systems
  • Produce models, drawings, specifications, plans, and reports for successful integration onto aircraft
  • Manage and measure the performance of the Airframe Engineering team by expanding abilities and identifying gaps
