About this role
The Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer supports plant leaders and production personnel in developing and implementing manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations. This role applies engineering principles to develop programming, fixtures, and feedback supporting customer designs and end products. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders solves problems and improves processes.
Day-to-day tasks include leading the New Product Introduction process, conceptual design of new products, and creating designs through modeling, drafting, and BOM creation. Direct programming of CNC equipment, tool design, and machine tool selection are key activities. Manufacturing liaison support is provided to operations, purchasing, and estimating.
The role involves working closely with production teams, internal stakeholders, and external customers to manage project schedules and execute time-sensitive design projects under pressure. Technical reviews, presentations, and support for design reviews, failure analysis, and anomaly resolution ensure product quality. Testing plans are created, executed, and documented.
Opportunities exist to recommend and introduce improvements to manufacturing methods, identify cutting and forming tools, and operationalize new equipment. Experience with custom sheet metal fabrication and automation processes enhances contributions to ongoing process enhancements and new technology adoption.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in sheet metal engineering and disciplines
- Excellent SolidWorks or equivalent modeling skills
- Above average knowledge of manufacturing principles and equipment, including CNC
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred)
- Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication experience (preferred)
- Experience with automation processes and new technology (preferred)
Responsibilities
