Aerodynamics Engineer - Hypersonic Air Vehicles
2w2 weeks agoAnduril
Costa Mesa, US · Full-time · $146,000 – $194,000
About this role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. It brings 21st-century innovation to defense, changing how military systems are designed, built, and sold. Lattice OS powers its systems, turning data streams into realtime 3D command and control.
The Air Dominance and Strike Aerodynamics Engineering Team handles advanced aerodynamic design and analysis for Group 5 hypersonic air vehicles and missile platforms. Engineers own the full development lifecycle from conceptual design to flight test planning, execution, and analysis. This ensures high-performance, resilient systems for complex, contested environments.
Daily work involves aerodynamics design at conceptual, preliminary, and detailed stages for unmanned air vehicles and missiles. Perform analysis using low and high-order methods, stability and control, trajectory optimization, and aerothermodynamic studies in high-speed environments. Generate aerodynamic loads, model aircraft performance, and plan wind tunnel and flight tests.
As strategic competition rises, Anduril delivers cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking to the military rapidly. Team members contribute to scalable systems meeting demanding operational needs. Opportunities arise in tool development and advanced analysis techniques.
