About this role

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician performs tasks in support of manufacturing engineers and production personnel. This includes machine setup and operation, creating CNC programs or processes, manufacturing experimental and production components, and inspecting critical part features. The role supports production to drive aircraft quality and customer satisfaction.

Daily responsibilities involve creating successful CNC programs for experimental, continuous improvement, and production activities. Perform machine setups, prove out programs, and complete production as required. Troubleshoot basic equipment malfunctions independently and take ownership of tooling, fixtures, and equipment.

Work with engineering to solve existing issues and improve processes while maintaining successful relationships with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory departments. Follow all company safety policies and complete prescribed preventative maintenance tasks on time. Keep equipment operational by specifying and coordinating maintenance and repair.

Maintain a clean and organized workstation to meet department standards and communicate issues to lead and supervisor. Participate in capital or continuous improvement projects and assist in creating specialty tooling. Supports the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing processes and equipment for efficient production.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; technical degree in manufacturing preferred
  • 1-3 years experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficient in manual and CNC machining processes; five-axis machining experience preferred
  • Knowledge of CNC programming techniques, preferably using Mastercam
  • Ability to machine and modify moderate to complex parts with a lathe and mill
  • Use hand and power tools to perform maintenance and repairs on tooling
  • Knows how to use basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use a bill of material
