About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support the Micro-Electronics value stream in a Low Volume, Medium Mix, High Value manufacturing facility for spaceflight hardware. The successful candidate will work in a small team environment. They will ensure the efficient and effective manufacturing of high-quality products.

Provide engineering support for the identification, control, and disposition of nonconforming material. Create, monitor, and control production processes, equipment, tooling, and documentation. Perform equipment installations, decommissioning, preventative maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and repairs.

Support manufacturing operations and provide effective communication to cross-functional teams during development, launch, and production phases. Demonstrate ability to learn and manage multiple processes and unique equipment. Adhere to cleanroom, ESD, and FOD procedures in a fully on-site Scottsdale facility.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534 standards
  • Experienced with production processes including die attach (BESI/MRSI), flip-chip, gold and aluminum ultrasonic wire bonding, and mechanical screening
  • Materials selection and design for MCM (Multi-Chip Module) manufacturing
  • Microelectronics packaging design and qualification testing techniques
  • Proficiency in creating and controlling production processes and documentation
  • Basic CAD skills, preferably with Creo
  • Knowledge of cleanroom, ESD, and FOD procedures
  • U.S. citizenship required and eligibility for access to classified information

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for the identification, control, and disposition of nonconforming material

  • Create, monitor, and control production processes, equipment, tooling, and documentation
  • Support the design and development of production tooling
  • Provide process knowledge and training to production team members
  • Perform equipment installations, decommissioning, preventative maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and repairs
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes in a low rate production environment
  • Utilize basic CAD for design and documentation purposes
