Join Ansys to partner with customers to engineer what's ahead, solve real-world engineering problems, and deploy Ansys software in design workflows. As an Application Engineer, drive new growth and adoption of Digital Mission Engineering (DME) software like Systems Tool Kit (STK) and Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK) within key aerospace and defense accounts. Help Ansys Government Initiatives achieve sales and growth goals.

Based in Northern Virginia, provide ongoing support for existing customers on high-value projects. Engage with Account Managers on new growth opportunities to expand DME software adoption. Coordinate technical activities like discovery, presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations throughout the sales lifecycle.

Operate as part of a dynamic team of engineers, software developers, and business professionals. Assist customers in performing analyses, solving problems, and integrating custom software solutions. Collaborate closely with Ansys Customer Excellence teams to integrate high-fidelity analytical models.

Requirements

TS/SCI Clearance Required
Expertise as product expert with Ansys systems and platform products
Experience driving adoption of Digital Mission Engineering software like STK and ODTK
Knowledge of aerospace and defense industries
Technical skills to solve real-world engineering problems
Interpersonal skills for customer partnerships and team collaboration
Ability to perform system-level analyses and integrate tools

Responsibilities

Lead technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, including technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations
Provide technical leadership on company product offerings and guidance on increasing sales opportunities
Work with customers to understand system-level engineering requirements, analyze solutions using Ansys systems products, and articulate value proposition
Develop and implement holistic system-level solutions leveraging tool integration, model-based systems engineering, simulation process management, design exploration, optimization, and digital mission engineering
Collaborate with Ansys Customer Excellence teams and customers to integrate high-fidelity analytical models in system-level solutions
Support existing customers on high-value projects and pursue new growth opportunities with Account Managers
Assist customers in performing analyses, solving problems, and deploying custom software solutions
