About this role
Join QinetiQ's Systems Engineering Group to support customers across a wide range of aircraft platforms. Activities include certification, technical programme management, independent advice, design, manufacture, testing, and concept development. Work spans military and civilian aircraft at all lifecycle stages.
Most work is desktop-based with opportunities for hands-on assessments and aircraft trials, supporting procurement, new capabilities, in-service modifications, or new equipment. The team applies best practice Systems Engineering principles such as Requirements Elicitation, Lifecycle Management, System Design, Verification & Validation, and Through Life Engineering support to aerospace projects.
System Engineers integrate a wide range of technical inputs to create, lead, and deliver compelling solutions. Ideal candidates are proactive, passionate, forward-thinking with a vested interest in aerospace technology, bringing novel thought and emerging concepts to improve today and shape tomorrow.

Requirements
- Obtained or studying towards a degree with predicted or achieved grade of at least 2:1 or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related relevant STEM subject
- Proactive and passionate approach to systems engineering
- Forward-thinking mindset with vested interest in aerospace technology
- Ability to bring novel thought and apply emerging concepts to aerospace projects
Responsibilities
- Support customers across aircraft platforms through certification, technical programme management, independent advice, design, manufacture, testing, and concept development
- Work at all stages of an aircraft’s lifecycle, both military and civilian
- Apply best practice Systems Engineering principles including Requirements Elicitation, Lifecycle Management, System Design, Verification & Validation, and Through Life Engineering support
- Integrate a wide range of technical inputs to create, lead, and deliver compelling solutions
- Participate in desktop-based work with hands-on assessments and aircraft trials
- Support procurement and entry of new aircraft into service, new capabilities, in-service modifications, or new equipment
