About this role
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. They are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. Our sights are set high and our problems are hard.
You will design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies using metallic and composite materials in Siemens NX and Fibersim. Assist in developing standard methodologies for airframe design and apply design for manufacturing concepts to create cost-effective, easy-to-fabricate designs. Support manufacturing to ensure successful airframe build and aircraft integration.
Work closely with your team lead, suppliers, and engineers from design, stress, and M&P throughout the product development process from prototype to high rate production. Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or a related technical degree with a focus on structures
- 4+ years of experience with lightweight structures (aircraft, spacecraft, other high performance vehicles)
- Strong CAD skills in NX (preferred), Solidworks, Catia or Creo
- Understanding of load paths and fundamental mechanics of composite materials
- Practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with design for manufacturing of composite parts
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and visual form
- Attention to detail, strong organization and project management skills
