The Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer supports certification of large aircraft modifications for global airline partners, demonstrating compliance with regulatory and customer requirements in the Design Organization Handbook. This role is based at the BGS EASA Modifications site in Frimley, UK.

Report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and collaborate with the global engineering services team across time zones to identify requirements and solutions for projects. Contribute to design activities ensuring compliance with electrical and avionic systems changes in large aircraft modifications. Support certification activities and compile engineering documentation like wiring diagrams and service bulletins.

Work across multiple time zones with teammates, customers and subcontractors. Act as Boeing representative in milestone meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI.

Develop skills and reach career goals with support from Boeing EASA Modifications. Provide on-site assistance during project embodiment phases. Occasional national and international travel required to visit teammates, customers and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree within Electrical / Avionics or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering
  • 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent)
  • Basic working knowledge of EASA regulations
  • Experience with electrical load analysis documents
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams and EWIS assessments
  • Knowledge of aircraft modification certification processes

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and work with the global engineering services team across multiple time-zones to identify requirements and solutions for active and upcoming projects
  • Contribute to design activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and address certification issues relating to electrical / avionic equipment and systems changes
  • Support certification activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Compile engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, wire routing installation drawings, harness fabrication drawings, service bulletins and ICA supplements
  • Compile certification documents such as electrical load analysis, test plans and reports, compliance statements, system safety documents and checklists
  • Act as Boeing representative during customer milestone meetings including ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI
  • Provide on-site support to customers during the embodiment phase of projects
