About this role
The Flight Controls team designs, develops, integrates, and certifies Gulfstream Flight Control Systems across large cabin programs. These complex systems involve electronics, software, electrical, and hydraulic actuation. Join a highly cross-functional team of exceptional engineers at the Savannah facility.
As a Cognizant Engineer, develop, design, and certify hardware and software aspects of Flight Control System equipment. Support troubleshooting of in-service issues impacting component reliability. Interact with suppliers during development, certification, and root cause corrective action.
Work under limited supervision, with reviews only for accuracy and consistency with objectives. Provide specialized technical assistance to team members and act as liaison with external representatives. Use advanced techniques to solve a wide range of difficult problems.
Gain exposure to Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls Systems and FAR Part 25 certification processes. Engage with ARP4754A, DO-178/DO-254 standards, and DO-160 qualification testing. Contribute to planning, developing, and coordinating important engineering projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
- 5 years in specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor's
- Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Master's, 4 years for PhD in applicable fields
- Experience with Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls Systems
- Exposure to FAR Part 25 certification, ARP4754A, or DO-178/DO-254
- Experience with DO-160 qualification testing or flight control system integration testing
- Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred
