Munich, DE · Full-time · €65,000 – €95,000

About this role

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can be refuelled in orbit and carry cargo and potentially humans. Our Future Projects unit expands these capabilities by conceptualizing and pre-developing new technologies, products, and programs. You will join as an Avionics, Communications and Power Engineer to develop and test critical software for a robotic orbital station.

This station aims to support the In Space Operations and Services eco-system by enabling resupply of satellites with parts and propellant, and performing complex robotic-assisted in-orbit experiments. Your role involves taking ownership of work packages related to avionics, communications, and power. Initially, duties include defining functional breakdowns, high-level requirements, and managing technical baselines.

You will provide system architectures, conceptual designs, technical trade-offs, budget and performance calculations. Develop hardware solutions, implementation, verification, and validation plans for projects. Ensure delivery on time, on quality, and on cost while coordinating with the Bid Manager for winning proposals.

Join a Future Projects Team in an agile environment that makes fast decisions while keeping goals in mind. The company is open and collaborative, transparent about risks to overcome obstacles together. Enjoy the fun of democratising space as a space enthusiast ready to change the global space industry.
