About this role
This part-time Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Integration Engineer provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the SLS Booster Office in production and delivery of SRM hardware and booster elements. The role delivers subsystem leadership and project engineering support to integrate technical solutions and resolve issues. Responsibilities include participating in cross-functional task teams for alignment between NASA and contractor teams.
Daily efforts focus on facilitating integrated discussions, participating in design and document reviews, and providing status on issues and deliverables. Coordinate between NASA, Booster Office, and prime contractor teams to achieve SRM subsystem objectives. Provide SME insight into contractor SRM analyses, integration activities, issues, and resolutions.

Requirements
- Experience in design, development, testing, or evaluation of solid rocket motor systems, booster structures, or related propulsion hardware
- Ability to effectively communicate significant programmatic and technical issues and potential resolution options to Booster office personnel
- Familiarity with the current SLS Program and working understanding of SLS Booster and SRM interfaces
- Experience with vehicle and ground operations related to booster integration or propulsion systems
- Experience developing and delivering executive-level briefings with strong negotiation and technical problem-solving skills
- Ability to decompose complex issues
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated and effective team player
Responsibilities
- Coordinate between NASA, Booster Office, and prime contractor teams to achieve SRM subsystem objectives
- Provide SME level insight and oversight into contractor SRM system analyses, integration activities, issues and resolution
- Develop and maintain technical requirements for the SRM subsystem, coordinating with Booster Element Office and contractor teams
- Coordinate and communicate with Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and Kennedy Space Center (KSC) organizations as needed
- Coordinate planning and execution of requirement verification activities leading to flight-certified SRM hardware
- Support development and delivery of Booster Office Certificate of Flight Readiness products for SRM elements
