Join the School of Engineering as a Lecturer in Aerospace Electronics with The Singapore Public Service. Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in core disciplines like engineering fundamentals, avionics, and aircraft systems. Shape the next generation of aerospace engineers through hands-on teaching and mentorship.
Day-to-day involves reviewing, designing, and developing curricula, assessments, and instructional strategies. Supervise student internships, final-year projects, and major academic endeavors. Support teaching activities beyond normal hours as needed for operational requirements.
Collaborate with local and overseas industry partners and institutions to lead projects, learning journeys, and overseas programmes. Organise polytechnic-wide events, outreach, and student development initiatives. Thrive in a collaborative environment with diverse teams across disciplines.
Grow by leveraging industry experience in aerospace R&D or MRO to mentor youth passionately. Obtain CAAS SAR-66 Modules M3 to M5 for certified instruction. Advance through space engineering, AI, or professional aerospace certifications.
Requirements
- Qualifications in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least three years of relevant industry experience in aerospace R&D, MRO, or related sectors
- Passed or willing to obtain CAAS SAR-66 Modules M3 to M5 to qualify as a certified instructor for SAR-related curriculum subjects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for teaching and mentoring youth
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work across disciplines
- A collaborative mindset and experience working effectively in diverse teams
- Experience in space-related engineering, artificial intelligence, and/or possession of relevant industry certifications or professional memberships in aerospace engineering would be advantageous
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across core aerospace engineering disciplines, including engineering fundamentals, avionics, and aircraft-related systems
- Review, design, and develop subject curricula, assessment components, and instructional delivery strategies
- Supervise students’ internships, final-year projects, and other major academic projects
- Collaborate with local and overseas industry partners or educational institutions to plan and lead staff and student projects, learning journeys, and overseas programmes
- Organise and contribute to polytechnic-wide events, outreach activities, and student development initiatives
- Support teaching and academic activities outside normal office hours, where operationally required
