As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units. Systems Engineering Intern projects may involve aspects of applied systems engineering including system definition and systems test. Additional focus includes system integration, requirements verification, system safety, operations, and system verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems.

Interns collaborate within a culture of safety and collaboration alongside engineering teams. They receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers. Participants also engage in events to learn about other parts of the organization.

During the internship, gain hands-on, real-world experience on meaningful projects. Build skills through direct involvement in aerospace systems engineering tasks. Develop through structured mentorship and organizational exposure.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship
  • Available to work full time while not concurrently enrolled in coursework
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with requirements and/or verification
  • Modeling and Simulation, Mission Architecture, Programming
  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrates development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities
  • Hands-on project experience

Responsibilities

  • Support system definition for aerospace projects
  • Conduct systems test activities
  • Assist with system integration of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems
  • Perform requirements verification
  • Analyze system safety aspects
  • Contribute to operations planning
  • Execute system verification processes
