Varda seeks a Senior Propulsion Engineer responsible for ground propulsion fluid systems for spacecraft. Take ownership of the architecture, design, and operation of fluid systems supporting fueling, testing, and launch preparation. Expertise ensures reliability and performance essential to mission success.

Team includes veterans from SpaceX, Blue Origin, major pharmaceutical companies, and Silicon Valley. Headquartered in El Segundo with offices in Washington, DC and Huntsville, AL. Thrive in a dynamic, highly technical environment building vehicles, equipment, and materials.

Define and own processes for propellant handling across multiple sites. Lead the ground fluids roadmap, identifying future asset and personnel needs. Optimize propulsion systems for current and future generation space vehicles while growing with Varda.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field
6+ years in propulsion fluid system definition, design, build, and test for spacecraft or rockets
Deep understanding of fluid system components such as pressurized hardware, tubing, fittings, seals, valves, instrumentation
Experience authoring and executing operational procedures for test or flight
Experience authoring and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
Direct experience with fluid system manufacturing processes and installation methods
Familiarity with 91-710 or equivalent range safety specifications
Proficient with CAD and product lifecycle management software

Responsibilities

Architect, design, build, and operate ground fluid systems for Varda spacecraft
Lead and execute propellant loading operations across multiple Varda sites
Define and own Varda’s process for propellant handling and ensuring commodities meet specifications for flight
Own the ground fluids roadmap, including identification of future asset and personnel needs
Author and execute operational procedures for propellant loading and fluid system testing
Develop and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for ground fluid systems
Ensure compliance with range safety specifications like 91-710 during operations
