About this role

Odyssey is recruiting Electrical/Avionics Systems Engineering Support candidates for the Special Operations Forces and Personnel Recovery Division (AFLCMC/WIS) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This evergreen requisition proactively identifies highly qualified candidates for future openings in acquisition and program management support efforts. Selected individuals may be considered based on experience, qualifications, and program needs.

Daily responsibilities involve developing, implementing, and documenting projects while ascertaining needed changes to production methods, procedures, or approaches. Document systems requirements and evaluate procedures using innovative techniques to achieve goals. Support engineering reviews with evaluations, technical justifications, and computer-aided tools.

Work within the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), which manages a $22 billion acquisition portfolio. The team develops, produces, tests, modifies, fields, and supports Air Force ISR and SOF platforms and sub-systems. Contribute to equipping warfighters across multiple engineering disciplines.

Participate in special projects, prepare oral and written reports, and conduct technical presentations for planning and corrective action. Perform airworthiness determinations, Military Flight Release preparation, and Modification Airworthiness Certification Criteria development per MIL-HDBK-516. Engage in ongoing opportunities across Odyssey’s portfolio.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (ABET accredited educational program preferred)
  • Three or more years engineering experience in a relevant functional area
  • Minimum of two years working in the specialty task areas of avionics, software or test for the DoD

  • Develop, execute, and review policies, processes, and procedures spanning multiple engineering disciplines
  • Participate in special projects/initiatives, prepare oral/written reports, and conduct technical presentations
  • Perform airworthiness determinations, Military Flight Release (MFR) preparation, Modification Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC) development, and reportability determinations per MIL-HDBK-516
