STR delivers National Defense capabilities through mission-focused strategies developing advanced technology systems for enduring products and solutions. The Systems Development Division seeks a Principal Radar Systems Engineer to lead architecting, design, development, and implementation of radar systems meeting challenging customer needs. You will apply broad perspective across software, hardware, integration, and test.

You will research and lead new RF sensing implementations for advanced radar solutions, identifying technical approaches with program leadership. Decompose customer needs into system concepts, using tools like Cameo to document and communicate solutions. Design and direct cutting-edge technology in multi-function radar systems while conducting performance analysis via simulations and testing.

Collaborate with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements, architectures, and ensure integration for radars. Guide teams spanning the Systems Engineering Lifecycle with hands-on engineering and peer-leadership. Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret and support special access programs; U.S. citizenship required
  • Expert understanding of entire radar systems including design, development, requirements verification, test planning, execution, data analysis, and operations support
  • Experience architecting complete radar systems and working across the Systems Engineering Lifecycle
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering and MBSE
  • Experience defining and leading teams and junior engineers
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, technical, and peer-leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Hands-on experience implementing radar solutions with focus on Radar and EW/RF convergence

Responsibilities

  • Research, understand, and lead new RF sensing implementations for advanced radar solutions
  • Decompose customer needs and complex problems to develop system concepts and solutions
  • Use tools to create, evaluate, document solutions, and communicate to teams and customers, including Cameo models
  • Design, direct, and implement cutting-edge technology in multi-function radar systems
  • Conduct performance analysis through simulations and real-world testing to validate radar performance
  • Ensure appropriate rigor to achieve systems meeting customer needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, specifications, and architectures for radars
  • Develop and specify simulation tools for test and verification of radar software and hardware
