SEAKR Engineering

Centennial, US · Full-time · $130,000 – $180,000

About this role

Join SEAKR Engineering, a leading-edge provider of advanced electronics for space applications pushing the boundaries of technology. Spearhead the design, development, testing, and qualification of mission-critical electronic subsystems for next-generation products. Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, power, and software teams to deliver highly reliable, radiation-tolerant electronics that meet stringent requirements.

Define and validate subsystem architecture for avionics, payload electronics, power-distribution units, and environmental control systems while producing derived specifications and test plans. Evaluate and select commercial or radiation-hardened components against mission specifications. Oversee prototype build, assembly, production-grade manufacturing, and comprehensive test execution including electrical, EMI/EMC, vibration, and thermal validation.

Enjoy hybrid flexibility with 3 days onsite at the research facility and 2 days remote, dependent on program cycle. Thrive in a collaborative culture featuring interdisciplinary teams, frequent design reviews, and continuous improvement. Work on mission-driven projects that directly influence the success of space missions expanding scientific discovery and commercial capabilities.

Access dedicated budget for space-industry conferences such as AIAA, ESA, and SPIE, along with training and certification programs. Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and foster cross-functional teamwork. Translate customer requirements into technological solutions while representing SEAKR in unit sell-off and delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience in the space industry, or 4+ years in a senior/lead role
  • Deep knowledge of digital and analog electronics design (mixed-signal, high-speed)
  • Proficiency with Requirements Management Environment (RME) tools
  • Experience with radiation testing (TID, SEE) and mitigation techniques
  • Skilled in firmware/software integration for embedded microcontrollers/FPGA
  • Proven track record designing and executing electrical, EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum, vibration, and functional test plans
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Define and validate the architecture for avionics, payload electronics, power-distribution units, and environmental control systems
  • Evaluate and select commercial or radiation-hardened components (COTS, rad-hard) against mission specifications
  • Oversee prototype build, assembly, and production-grade manufacturing
  • Design and execute system-level test plans (electrical, functional, EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal)
  • Define and maintain electronic interface control documents (ICDs, EID) and resolve cross-disciplinary interface issues
  • Produce design specifications, test procedures, and operational manuals while maintaining a living knowledge base
  • Understand mission requirements, translate customer asks into technological solutions, and represent SEAKR in unit sell-off and delivery
  • Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and foster cross-functional teamwork

Benefits
