About this role

The Aeroderivative Performance & Operability Engineering team is a critical pillar within the Aeroderivative Engineering organization. It operates at the intersection of engineering, commercial, and digital domains, covering project execution and model development for thermodynamic cycle models and operability including emissions, fuel flexibility, and controls.

As a Performance Engineer focused on cycle modeling, you will develop, maintain, and execute thermodynamic cycle models using NPSS. You will drive the creation, adjustment, validation, and application of these models for Aeroderivative gas turbines. Work alongside experienced engineers on critical projects powering industries worldwide.

Manage the lifecycle for operability models reflecting operational realities, including emissions and fuel flexibility. Define engineering test plans and support field tests to gather data for model improvements. Lead data reduction and status-matching of steady-state and transient cycle models to various sources.

Act as a technical expert in performance and operability for Aeroderivative gas turbines. Build APIs, scripts, and tools using Python, VBA, AI, and NPSS to connect the modeling ecosystem. Unlock AI/ML capabilities and streamline team operations while building your career foundation.

Requirements

  • Advanced experience in Engineering/Technology & Performance Engineering
  • Understanding of gas turbine thermodynamics, controls, emissions, and operability
  • Significant experience in Aeroderivative performance modeling, data reduction, status matching, and NPSS cycle model development
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively to analyze and resolve complex problems
  • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, AI code assistants, C)
