About this role
Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle refuelled in orbit to carry cargo and potentially humans. The heart of a spacecraft lies in its engine. We are dedicated to cutting-edge Propulsion Systems for efficiency and reliability.
As Turbopump Mechanical Engineer in our Future Project division, you will design, analyze, and optimize turbopump components for rocket engines. Make well-reasoned decisions in turbomachinery design and carry out thermomechanical design of cryogenic pump components based on specifications.
Engage proactively with development engineers on conception, refinement, and validation of designs. Supervise external subcontractors and communicate with suppliers. Perform analytical modeling of geometric and mechanical problems, implementing solutions in programs.

Requirements
- Minimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline (or bachelor's with substantial relevant experience)
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and mechanical design
- Some understanding of machine dynamics such as rotordynamics
- Good knowledge of materials
- Good understanding of industry standard and emerging manufacturing methods and constraints
- Proficient in 3D CAD software and drafting
- Experience writing software/scripts in Python
- Fluency in English
