About this role
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Transmission System Stress Engineer to join the Design Office based in Marignane, France. As part of the Transmission System Engineering team, you are the guardian of "Catastrophic Failure" components. From the H160 to the record-breaking Racer, you will be the technical authority ensuring our dynamic systems withstand the most extreme flight envelopes. You don’t just run numbers; you validate through tests.
Define and follow-up on flight tests or laboratory tests to correlate your Samcef models. Act as the voice of Airbus Helicopters defending substantiation documents to international aviation authorities. Help evolve calculation methods for the next generation of rotorcraft.

Requirements
- Educated to 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering
- 5 years in mechanical part analysis (Metallic materials, RDM, Static & Fatigue)
- Proven experience with FEM (Samcef)
- Static and fatigue analysis
- Advanced French and English
- Autonomy, Team spirit, Rigour
- Mechanical Mindset rather than just a software operator
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority ensuring dynamic systems withstand extreme flight envelopes
- Define and follow-up on flight tests or laboratory tests to correlate Samcef models
- Defend substantiation documents to international aviation authorities
- Evolve calculation methods for next generation of rotorcraft
- Perform static and fatigue analysis on transmission system components
- Validate stress analysis beyond simulations using FEM tools like Samcef
