The role involves developing avionics and electrical solutions for improvements, expansions, or replacements on existing platforms or new developments. This work respects civil certification standards like FAA, TCCA, EASA, and military programs such as CH-146. Responsibilities ensure compliance while supporting aircraft capabilities.
Daily tasks include analyzing project requirements, supporting system integration with component selection and schematics, and coordinating with suppliers for displays, navigation, sensors, and health monitoring systems. English communication is required with Bell teams, suppliers, partners, and clients outside Quebec.
Based in Mirabel, Quebec, as part of the avionics and systems engineering team, the position offers involvement in lab integration tests, aircraft troubleshooting, and initial installations. Contribute to certification plans, qualification reports, and compliance matrices for functional and certification testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or avionics engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace or equivalent work experience
- Experience with integration on commercial and military aircraft is an asset
- Ability to represent the discipline by providing and presenting technical input
- Proficiency in English for communication with teams, suppliers, partners, and clients outside Quebec
- Knowledge of civil certification standards (FAA, TCCA, EASA) and military programs (e.g., CH-146)
- Familiarity with requirements management tools and certification documentation
Responsibilities
- Analyze project, production, and certification requirements and develop technical solutions for aircraft avionics and electrical systems
- Support system integration including component selection, interface compatibility, electrical schematics, and installation requirements
- Write system test plans and procedures, analyze results, and prepare qualification reports for component and aircraft certification
- Update technical requirements in the requirements management tool for change requests
- Prepare and update certification plans, qualification plans, and compliance matrices
- Conduct analyses supporting certification of installed or modified systems including electrical loads, thermal, safety, and EMC
- Support aircraft tests, systems integration lab (SIL), and troubleshooting
- Coordinate with avionics suppliers for development, integration, and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication, navigation, sensors, and systems management
