This specialized researcher will research and develop practical multi-vehicle autonomous solutions across a variety of projects. Multi-vehicle autonomous controls research involves coordinating, synchronizing, and overseeing groups of autonomous vehicles. It integrates control theory, computer science, and human factors.
Operate within UDRI's Autonomy Systems division on U.S. federal government research contracts. Collaborate in an academic-research environment focused on defense-related aviation advancements. Contribute to projects requiring U.S. citizenship and security clearances.
Advance aviation through leading-edge autonomy research. Publish results in mathematics journals and conference proceedings. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses while driving multi-vehicle control innovations.
Requirements
- PhD in Mathematics or equivalent
- 13+ years of experience in research within the US Defense Industry (DoD or related)
- Experience with teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
- Publications of research results in mathematics journals and conference proceedings
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizen and cannot hold dual citizenship
- Existing SECRET clearance (or higher) required
- Experience with Multi-agent cooperative path planning (preferred)
