The Propulsion Architect / Propulsion Engineer operates inside a System/Subsystem level core team. This role interfaces with Customers and Suppliers, requiring peculiar communication skills, pro-active attitude, and predisposition for team working.

The candidate assesses Spacecraft level requirements concerning Propulsion and defines requirements at System, Subsystem, and Equipment levels. They prepare technical specifications and contribute to Statements of Work for Propulsion Subsystem/Equipment. They define Propulsion System architecture based on System level requirements.

Daily tasks include conducting functional and performance analysis using EcosimPro software, sizing and designing the Propulsion System including interfaces. Responsibilities cover technical follow-up of development, qualification, and procurement of Propulsion Subsystems/Equipment. They also define and coordinate Propulsion System verification at various levels.

Requirements

  • Master degree in Engineering: the Aerospace / Propulsion field is preferred
  • Knowledge of different typologies of Propulsion Systems, including advanced ones, for space applications
  • Knowledge of main requirements applicable to Propulsion Systems
  • Knowledge of verification approach/content applicable to Propulsion Systems
  • At least three years of work experience in Propulsion field
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Attitude to face and learn new topics with enthusiasm
  • Availability to occasionally work in shifts and travel if requested

Responsibilities

  • Assess Spacecraft level requirements concerning Propulsion and define Propulsion requirements at System, Subsystem and Equipment levels
  • Prepare technical specifications for Propulsion Subsystem/Equipment
  • Contribute to preparation of Statements of Work for Propulsion Subsystem/Equipment
  • Define the Propulsion System architecture based on System level requirements
  • Conduct functional and performance analysis of a Propulsion System using the dedicated EcosimPro application software
  • Size and design the Propulsion System and Subsystem, including the interfaces
  • Perform technical follow-up of development, qualification and procurement of Propulsion Subsystems/Equipment
  • Define and coordinate the Propulsion System verification at System/Subsystem/Equipment level
