About this role

The Flight Controls team designs, develops, integrates, and certifies Gulfstream Flight Control Systems across large cabin programs. These complex systems involve electronics, software, electrical, and hydraulic actuation. A highly cross-functional team of exceptional engineers handles this work at the Savannah facility.

Support troubleshooting of in-service issues impacting component reliability. Interact with suppliers during development, certification, and root cause corrective action. Perform engineering work related to investigation and solution of basic problems in research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.

Join a team of qualified, diverse individuals with broad skillsets and various experience levels. Work is closely supervised, following established procedures and methods. Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor, and other exempt professionals in the group.

Entry-level role for upcoming graduates or those with 0-18 months experience. Continue learning and developing knowledge of technical principles in flight controls. Actively improve daily processes while ensuring work meets customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related curriculum required
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential functions
  • Upcoming graduates considered; degree must be conferred prior to beginning employment
  • Experience with Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls Systems
  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft system issues in-service or in a production environment
  • Level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade level
  • Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats

Responsibilities

  • Support troubleshooting of in-service issues impacting component reliability
  • Interact with suppliers during development, certification, and root cause corrective action
  • Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and complete discrete engineering tasks on schedule
  • Apply engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues using company procedures
  • Analyze and evaluate results of project activities
  • Prepare recommendations for changes and compile necessary reports for department supervision
  • Recognize discrepancies with analysis/test results and work toward corrective action
  • Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure work meets customer requirements
