About this role

Boeing Brazil is seeking a Mid-Career Integrated Modular Avionics Engineer reporting to the Integrated Modular Avionics Engineering Manager in São José dos Campos. This role joins the Global Integrated Modular Avionics team to support development and certification of transport category airplanes. Responsibilities include participation in complex electronic systems development, analyzing requirements, and demonstrating compliance with regulatory and customer standards.

The engineer translates concepts and high-level requirements into specific architectures and operational specifications. Integration of avionics systems and components occurs into complex airplanes, with verification at component, system, and airplane levels. Work spans from initial concept through certification, delivery, and in-service support.

Collaboration happens with a worldwide team to implement system hardware and software. Internal and external stakeholders contribute to developing complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Supplier oversight ensures integration and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

This hybrid position requires some onsite work at the São José dos Campos office, at the hiring team’s discretion. Research technology advances for potential application to business needs and make recommendations for investments. Relocation offered based on candidate eligibility.

Requirements

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the engineering and agronomy regional council (CREA)
  • Experience with commercial airplane certification, audits and design review activities
  • Experience as a system engineer throughout the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification, and validation
  • Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics and related standards like DO-297 and ARP 4754, ARP 4761
  • Experience in requirement management tools (DOORS or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Oversees supplier engineering performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
  • Solves problems and provides support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs and makes recommendations for potential technology investments
