About this role

PowerTech is a leading innovator in propulsion technologies, specializing in cutting-edge microjets, turbofan engines, and internal combustion engines. The Aerodynamics Engineer role focuses on gas turbine turbomachinery design and analysis within turbojet and turbofan development programs. This position demands expert knowledge in gas turbine propulsion, project planning, and individual development.

Daily tasks include carrying out aerodynamic design and analysis activities for turbomachinery. Engineers perform design and off-design analysis, post-process engine test data, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. They also review designs, simulations, and generate testing guidelines.

The role involves providing technical leadership in engine architectural studies and identifying project risks with mitigation plans. Team members define performance metrics, monitor progress, and deliver constructive feedback. Interaction occurs across teams, clients, and vendors in a precision engineering environment.

Opportunities include developing numerical and experimental methods for verification and validation. Professionals advance through hands-on turbomachinery optimization and state-of-the-art technologies in materials and heat transfer. The position supports robust manufacturing processes and propulsion system advancements.

Requirements

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree or related field
  • Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, turbomachinery design, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
  • Hands-on experience in axial and centrifugal compressor and turbine design and optimization for gas turbine applications
  • Experience in unsteady modelling, bleed flows, compressor stability, casing treatment, and sub-idle modelling
  • Fluent in English
  • 5-15 years or more experience
  • Proficiency in commercial turbomachinery tools such as Concepts NREC, AxStream or similar
  • Experience in CFD or through flow simulation methods including Ansys CFX, Numeca/Cadence, Fluent
