The company seeks a qualified Senior Avionics Engineer for the Avionics and Systems Engineering team.
The team develops, integrates, and certifies technologically advanced avionics and electrical solutions. These address upgrades, expansions, or replacements of platform capabilities while meeting civilian and military certification regulations. The role involves analyzing requirements and developing technical solutions for avionics systems.
Daily tasks include managing avionics system requirements, specifications, architecture, and interfaces. Support integration by selecting components, ensuring interface compatibility, and drafting electrical diagrams. Coordinate with suppliers on displays, flight instruments, communication, navigation, and vehicle management systems.
Prepare certification plans, test procedures, and qualification reports for components and aircraft. Conduct analyses for electrical loads, thermal, safety, EMC, HIRF, and lightning certification. Support LRU testing, SIL troubleshooting, ground/flight testing, and first article installations.
Requirements
- Strong relevant experience in aerospace or equivalent working level experience
- Experience in aircraft avionic and electrical systems
- Integration experience on a commercial or military aircraft
- Knowledge of requirements management tool
- Knowledge of equipment qualification standards or civil aircraft and systems certification standards
- Familiarity with avionics system development and certification processes
- Experience with electrical load analysis, EMC, HIRF and lightning protection
Responsibilities
- Analyze project, production and certification requirements and develop technical solutions related to avionics and aircraft electrical systems
- Develop avionics system requirements and management, systems specifications, architecture and interfaces with other aircraft systems
- Support integration of systems including choice of components, compatibility of interfaces, drafting of electrical diagrams and installation requirements
- Manage requirements through a requirements management tool and provide technical guidance and impact assessment
- Prepare and update certification plans, qualification plans and conformity matrix
- Coordinate with avionics system suppliers in development, integration and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication and navigation systems
- Prepare test plans and procedures, analyze results and write qualification reports for functional and certification tests
- Support LRU/system testing, Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) testing, troubleshooting, aircraft ground and flight testing
