About this role

Aluminum Precision Products (APP) is an international leader in aluminum forgings, looking for a Press Lead to assist the supervisor in directing work activities and instructing employees. This role offers a challenging environment with smart, dedicated people.

As a working lead, you will perform all functions of a Press Operator while providing work direction and feedback to the team. You will retrieve forged parts from the die, place them into etch baskets, and maintain accurate part-counts for current production.

You will communicate effectively with employees across all levels and departments, acting as the first point of contact for troubleshooting. Regular communication with Lead A and Supervisor is essential to assure quality and production requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Commitment to working safely and maintaining an organized, lean work environment.
  • 3+ years experience in a production environment.
  • Ability to wear proper Personal Protection Equipment at all times.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Person in compliance with ITAR regulations.
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension).
  • Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
  • Ability to frequently lift parts that can exceed 30 lbs. using material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions of a Press Operator while providing work direction and instruction to the team.
  • Explain use of tools, equipment, and production processes to employees.
  • Retrieve forged parts from the die and place them into etch baskets.
  • Maintain accurate part-counts of current production.
  • Assure quality and production requirements are met per job-specific travelers.
  • Act as first point of contact for troubleshooting and issue resolution or escalation.
  • Provide job cross-training when and where necessary.
