About this role
Boeing Brazil seeks a Mid-Career Integrated Modular Avionics Engineer reporting to the Integrated Modular Avionics Engineering Manager in São José dos Campos. Join the Global Integrated Modular Avionics team to support development and certification of transport category airplanes. Participate in developing complex electronic systems, analyzing requirements, and demonstrating compliance with regulatory and customer standards.
Translate concepts and high-level requirements into specific architectures and operational specifications. Integrate avionics systems and components into complex airplanes. Implement system hardware and software while verifying designs at component, system, and airplane levels.
Work with a worldwide team, internal and external stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance. Oversee supplier engineering performance across the product lifecycle. Collaborate from initial concept through certification, delivery, and in-service support in a hybrid work environment.
Research technology advances for potential application to business needs and make investment recommendations. Gain exposure to commercial airplane certification, audits, and design reviews. Engage in full systems development processes including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, and validation.
Requirements
- Existing rights to work in Brazil
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering
- Proficient in verbal and written English language communications skills
- Registered or eligible to register with the Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia (CREA)
- Experience with commercial airplane certification, audits and design review activities
- Experience as a system engineer throughout the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification, and validation
- Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics and related standards like DO-297, ARP 4754, ARP 4761
- Experience in requirement management tools (DOORS or similar)
Responsibilities
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
- Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
- Tests and validates system designs to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements
- Oversees supplier engineering performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
- Solves problems and provides support for fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
- Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs and makes recommendations for potential technology investments
