About this role

As a Mid-Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Composites, you will design and optimize manufacturing processes for CFRP parts and sub-assemblies in eVTOL airframe prototype manufacturing. You will support assembly integration and interact with Manufacturing, QA, Structural Design, and cross-functional teams to realize composite parts.

Day-to-day tasks include developing processes using OOA prepreg systems, programming CNC routers for trimming and drilling, and overseeing bonding preparation with surface treatment and cure cycle optimization. You will manage oven operations, recipe development, and apply expertise in composite curing thermal profiles for part quality.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and aerospace standards compliance. Perform DFM/DFA assessments on parts and tooling, troubleshoot issues to improve yield, and support NPI and lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

Growth opportunities involve leading material qualification for certification prototypes, optimizing facilities with layout and equipment commissioning, and adhering to project timelines, budgets, and quality outputs in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or any related field
  • 4+ years work experience in Manufacturing engineering of composites structures in the aerospace industry
  • Familiarity with different types of composites materials & manufacturing processes, assembly & toolings
  • ERP & PLM
  • CAD software (Preferably CATIA or NX, Solidworks)
  • Composite manufacturing processes
  • Aircraft assembly processes & integration
  • Tooling Design & Development

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for CFRP components using OOA prepreg systems
  • Lead material qualification for certification prototypes with interactions with Certification & Airworthiness team
  • Optimise facility including layout planning, utilities coordination, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning
  • Specify, source, validate, and maintain capital equipment such as CNC routers, ovens, and bonding tools
  • Program and operate CNC routers for precision trimming and drilling of composite structures
  • Oversee bonding preparation processes, including surface treatment, adhesive application, and cure cycle optimization
  • Manage Oven operations, including recipe development, cycle optimization, and maintenance coordination
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve yield, reduce scrap, and enhance process efficiency
