Long Beach, US · Full-time · $175,000 – $241,000

About this role

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets like Terran R to deliver payloads to orbit and unlock opportunities in science and exploration. As a Staff Avionics Hardware Engineer in the Interplanetary Program, you will own the design, development, and delivery of spacecraft avionics systems from concept through flight. You will create reliable, high-performance avionics enabling deep-space missions.

You will develop complete avionics systems including architecture, design, integration, and verification. Collaborate with propulsion, guidance and control, thermal, and software teams for seamless integration. Lead hardware builds covering PCB design, harnessing, embedded systems, and environmental qualification.

The Interplanetary Sciences Program expands access to solar system exploration, making planetary research faster, more affordable, and capable. It rethinks science mission design, build, and operation to enable instruments to distant worlds without decades of development. Join multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment with autonomy at every level.

Relativity fosters creativity and technical rigor where your voice shapes decisions and stories. This unique moment lets you leave your mark on product, process, and culture as Terran R gains momentum. The most meaningful work of your career awaits.
